Mr. Frog Prince Looks Handsome On Some Fun Art Gifts!

I designed a fun canvas tote bag featuring our handsome Frog Prince!

Here he is on a ceramic tile...

And a framed tile...

Plus a jewelry box....

And finally a little refrigerator magnet...

I love the way Frog Prince looks on these art gifts, I might even like him more in a square format, well....maybe! :)

Filling Up The Etsy Shelves With Prints

In an effort to expand my selling venues away from eBay, I am filling up the shelves on Etsy this week (Bonnanzle and ArtFire next week)

I am also offering a few "Quick sell" prints on Etsy as a way of creating a "sell similar" option by re-listing the sold item with small changes.

Also pondering the next Amphibian Royalty (AKA Frog Prince Two)

Nearly Done With The Frog Prince ACEO!

On this steamy afternoon, I am just about to finish The Frog Prince ACEO miniature painting. I am pleased with how he has evolved and it's been fun to venture away from my more typical subjects of cute and fuzzy.

I should have this little fellow complete by the morning.
Step By Step of The Frog Prince.

New England's freak heat wave is just about to break...I can feel the shift in the air, with winds picking up and thick storm clouds on the horizon.

Few More Steps On The Frog Prince ACEO

I am moving ever closer to completion on "The Frog Prince" miniature painting ACEO.

Hey, it's hot here in New England! Whats up with that? :)

Step By Step of The Frog Prince.

Worked Some More On The Frog Prince ACEO

I began to work out the Frog Princes crown and face yesterday. At this point the little miniature drawing - painting is done with layers of colored pencil that are applied heavily, burnished, and blended.

What weather we are having! I know a good part of the country is also enjoying unusually warm weather right now, and I love it! Having grown up in Southern California, I think I have a bit of the "desert rat" in me. Except when our new England summers become unbearably humid (about five days a year) I soak up all this warmth like a lizard in the sun.....yum!

Sunday

Few More Steps On The Frog Prince ACEO

This morning (as we threw open all the windows and doors during this unusually warm spring weekend...sweet, sweet fresh air and the morning symphony of birds pouring in) I worked a little more on the "Frog Prince" ACEO miniature painting. I will spend a long time on the background for this one as I want to capture that tiny space on the forest floor where magic such as frog princes occur. :)

Remember, I will offer this little painting for sale here on my blog at half price for a few days and then it will go on Etsy for $99.00.

Enjoy your weekend!

A Little Horse Euphoria!

Today I spent the afternoon with my sweet horse Little Bit. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I waited 35 years for my first horse. Now each and every moment I spend with him is pure heaven. Right now, having brushed him out, pressed my face into his warm neck, and had an enchanting ride with him, I am in what I call horse euphoria!
Here is a sweet little poem I snagged by the Horse Poet which sums it up beautifully.

I Ride My Horse

I feel the wind
I hear the birds
I ride my horse
As I sing the words

I see the grass
I feel the leather
I ride my horse
Upon the heather

I taste the dust
I see the heat
I ride my horse
To his own beat

I feel the joy
I taste the fun
I ride my horse
Into the yellow sun

Enjoy!!

Little Further On The Frog Prince Miniature Painting

Moved a little further along on my miniature painting ACEO "The Frog Prince" I worked in a background using a texture medium which gets layed down before adding watercolor over the top. This gives a unique quality to the surface...I like it!

Very full day today. At 8:00 am sharp, six trucks converged on our front lawn as both the fence company and the pool company arrived to replace both! Then a four hour jaunt to the local mall to purchase jeans and shorts for my teenage daughter. I even tried on jeans (uggh, that can be depressing) Then oversaw son and hubby paint the back deck....oh my what a day! :)

Have a great evening,

A New Miniature Painting The Frog Prince WIP

I started my newest miniature this morning..."The Frog Prince" This one is going to be fun. I want to capture that tiny hidden place, deep in the woods, close to the forest floor where rarely seen magic happens if we take a very close look. :)

Thanks to Jennifer MacNeill-Traylor for the reference photograph.

Happy Friday everyone.

The Childrens Book To Be Published In August!

A few of my favorite illustrations for Moonlight Memoirs:

Moonlight Memoirs My first childrens book illustration project is moving closer to publication!

In June of 2007, young lady contacted me through eBay. Maggie Mei Lewis
is a lovely young person and talented writer on the brink of publishing her first book. Together Maggie, her mother, and I have been working very hard on this adorable book and we are nearly done!

The back cover will read:
"Two young mice venture outside one cold and snowy night. Their leisurely walk turns into a life-changing event when they meet a mysterious old mouse who beckons them to follow. This mouse—along with several other animal friends—teach the two curious mice a comforting lesson about love’s eternal nature."

I am excited about our book, I think we have done a fine job with Moonlight Memoirs. I will certainly be offering the book here on my blog and my other selling sites. All of the illustrations are available as prints.

Prints available (for now on eBay), but be watching for them from my Etsy, ArtFire, and Bonanzle shops.

Enjoy!!

Little Bunny As A Refrigerator Magnet

My recent miniature ACEO is now featured on a nice little refrigerator magnet. I believe she looks sweet in this format and just think, you can build a whole mini gallery right on your fridge!

She is available here in My Gift Shop and soon from my Bonanzle shop.

Cold and rainy here in new England, a good day to stick by the wood stove and make art!

Nearly Done With Latest Miniature ACEO Mouse And Fairy

I am coming to the end of my newest miniature painting ACEO. I figured out a better way of photographing this piece using both a florescent and a "Truecolor" light on at once. The next step is going to be adding the fine detail in little mouse's fur and whiskers, which I especially love to do.

Have a glorious spring day!
