Book Illustration Complete!

A few days ago, I posted the work in progress for my latest book illustrations.  The upcoming children's book "Thomas and Autumn" is an adorable story which you can read about here

The book, "Thomas and Autumn" is written by my friend, Jana Laiz. It is the story of a little boy named Thomas who has a very special relationship with a very special chicken! This piece is of Thomas holding Autumn (a Banty hen) when she was very young.

Below I have included the small painting as it will appear in the finished book. It will be framed with an ornate "chickeny" border which I painted a few months ago. I think Thomas and Autumn turned out very well.

Book Illustration - Work In Progress

I am working on a new children's book illustration for a book titled Thomas & Autumn written by my friend, Jana Laiz.

The story:
Thomas & Autumn is the sweet story of a little boy named Thomas who has a very special relationship with a very special chicken, Autumn. It is a book for tiny children and for chicken lovers of any age. Thomas raises and shows chickens. He sells eggs. Thomas works hard in the barn. It takes him a while, but finally his egg sales earn him enough money to buy his very own chicken, a Banty hen that he names Autumn.

Here are first few steps on this little painting. It is a 5 x 5 inch watercolor and ink on a heavy art board.

Below is an intricate page border I completed earlier which will frame the illustrations.
